Ewood Park side snap up Magpies striker.
Blackburn Rovers sign Leon Best in £3m deal
Blackburn Rovers have signed striker Leon Best from Newcastle United for a fee in the region of £3m.
The 25-year-old has scored 10 times in 46 games for the Magpies since joining from Coventry in early 2010.
The Republic of Ireland international, who has seven caps for his country, was on target four times in the Premier League last season.

This is a fairly astute move by Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean, who amazingly is still employed by the Ewood Park side despite consigning the club to the Championship. The 25 year old Newcastle United forward has struggled to make an impact at St James’ Park since the arrival of Senegal international pair Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba and a move this summer may help re-ignite his career.
Indeed Best is perhaps better suited to life in the second tier and Blackburn Rovers needed to bring in added firepower after Yakubu left for China. Steve Kean will add the signing to that of Fulham veteran Danny Murphy as the Scot looks to make an instant return to the top tier.
Best notched up 10 goals in 46 appearances for Newcastle United following his move from Coventry City.
