Veteran heading for Ewood.
Former Portugal international Nuno Gomes has arrived in England to finalise a two-year deal with Blackburn, according to Goal.com.
The striker is a free agent after leaving Braga and is set to become the second striker to sign for the Championship club in a week, after Leon Best arrived from Newcastle for £3 million.
Gomes, who will turn 36 this week, has previously played for the likes of Benfica and Fiorentina, bagging 156 goals in a decent club career that began in 1994.
The forward also has 79 caps for his country, scoring 29 times, and is vastly experienced at major tournaments. Gomes represented Portugal at three consecutive European Championships from 2000 and the 2002, 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
Blackburn have already added veteran Danny Murphy to their ranks, as the Lancashire club look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
