Black Cats keen on Hoilett.
Sunderland are preparing a bid for Blackburn Rovers want-away winger Junior Hoilett, according to the Northern Echo.
The 22-year-old wide man had looked on the verge of sealing a move to Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach but talks broke down after Hoilett failed to agree personal terms with the Germans.
Galatasaray have emerged as potential suitors for the Canada-born winger but Sunderland are said to be ready to beat to Turkish club to his signature and are ready to begin negotiators with Hoilett’s representatives.
Hoilett is a free agent after failing to agree a new contract with Blackburn but the Lancashire would be due some form of compensation because he is under-23.
The star was a ray of light in a dismal Blackburn side that finished 19th in the Premier League last season. He has scored 12 times in 81 league appearances for the club, since breaking into the first team in 2009.
Hoilett has made it clear he is unwilling to play in the Championship and although the forward, who enjoyed two loans spells in Germany in his youth, is open to a move abroad, he is prepared to strongly consider Sunderland’s offer.
