Midfielder star wants compatriot in Turin.
Italy’s Euro 2012 star Andrea Pirlo has urged compatriot Mario Balotelli to join him at Juventus.
Manchester City forward Balotelli also impressed at the Euros, scoring three times including a stunning brace against Germany in the semi-final.
Pirlo, who was Italy’s standout player in Poland and Ukraine, has claimed that the notoriously unpredictable striker is a pleasure to have in the Azzurri dressing room and that he’d be welcome at Serie A Champions Juve.
“I know how to talk to him. We both come from Brescia and when we are in the national team we speak in dialect,” Pirlo is quoting as saying in the Metro.
“There was no problem with managing him in our dressing room, indeed he was very well behaved.
“Would I take Balotelli to Juventus? Of course I would. I’d gladly take him to Turin. Mario is a guy who needs you to stay close to him,” added the 33-year-old.
Pirlo’s comments come just days after Balotelli’s agent claimed the striker was worth £200 million.
Juventus are in the market for a centre-forward and have been linked with want-away Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Balotelli is said to be happy playing under his mentor Robeto Mancini but the City boss famously claimed the 22-year-old would never play for the club again after he was sent-off in a 1-0 defeat at Arsenal at the end of last season.
Mancini has now reversed his stance but may be willing to part with Balotelli for the right offer.
