Fulham Eyeing Blackburn Rovers Custodian Paul Robinson

Jol eyes Robbo reunion.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is preparing a bid for Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Jol worked with Robinson for four years at Tottenham and is eyeing a reunion with the former England number one.

The 31-year-old had looked on the verge of joining Besiktas but talks with the Turkish club stalled over the weekend.

Blackburn captain Robinson was unable to prevent Steve Kean’s side from finishing a dismal 19th last season and is desperate for a new challenge, reports the Daily Mail.

The former Leeds star has one year remaining on his contract at Ewood Park and has made over 150 appearances for the Lancashire club since leaving Spurs in 2008.

Jol is a fan of Robinson and believes he can regain the form that earned him 41 England caps between 2003 and 2007, before his retirement from international football in August 2010.

He would face competition from veteran Mark Schwarzer and David Stockdale for a spot between the sticks at Craven Cottage.
