Full-back makes Championship switch.
Manchester City left-sider Wayne Bridge has joined Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion on a season-long loan.
The 31-year-old former England defender has endured a miserable spell at the Etihad, playing just 8 times in the last two seasons during which he has had loan spells at West Ham and Sunderland.
Bridge joined City from Chelsea in 2009 for £10 million and is thought to be on wages of around £100,000 a week.
The star, who has 36 caps for England, has been widely criticised for not seeking a permanent move away from Manchester and even City boss Roberto Mancini has spoken of his dismay at Bridge’s contentment to remain at the club, without featuring for the first-team.
Wayne Bridge will hope that a move to Brighton will result in some much needed first team football and the possibility to get his career back on track.
