QPR Line Up Ambitious Move to Sign Tottenham Pair

Loftus Road side keen on White Hart Lane duo.

Queens Park Rangers hope to send out a real signal of intent by signing William Gallas and Jermain Defoe from Tottenham this summer.

Rangers, having only just avoided relegation last season, are determined to make an impact this time and believe they can convince their London rivals to sell the duo to them.

Both players face uncertain futures at White Hart Lane following the appointment of Andre Villas-Boas as manager there this week.

Having already signed West Ham keeper Robert Green, secured midfielder Samba Diakate on a permanent basis and snapped up Man United full-back Fabio on a loan deal it does seem that Mark Hughes has already had a very successful summer and greatly improved a QPR squad that came dangerously close to the drop last term.

The addition of one, or both, of these Tottenham talents would further strengthen the Loftus Road side’s squad and give them real hope of avoiding the drop and indeed pushing for a finish higher up the Premier League table.

New Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has been linked with many new attacking options but the White Hart Lane boss may well have to bring in a striker or two before considering options for his one and only recognised senior striker, namely Jermain Defoe. The England man didn’t have much of a look-in last term and could well look to re-ignite a flagging club career at QPR.

William Gallas could help beef up the QPR defence and line up a move to yet another London club having also plied his trade at Chelsea and Arsenal.

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes is clearly more than happy, and willing, to offer Mark Hughes great financial support in his endeavours as Super Hoops boss so expect a few new faces before the summer is out.
