Liverpool Set to Complete £15.8m Signing of Serie A Youngster Gaston Ramirez

Another Uruguayan Anfield bound.

The Daily Express reported that this was a done deal some days ago but now it appears that a deal is indeed on the cards.

If these sources are indeed correct then this could well prove to be a good bit of business. Gaston Ramirez is an up and coming talent who fits Liverpool’s youthful transfer policy and can handily assist the club in it’s pursuit of adding more creativity to an attack that has been lacking for much of this current campaign.

The push to sign the 21 year old Uruguayan will no doubt have been interested the Bologna man not least because it would mean joining his national team compatriots Luis Suarez and Sebastian Coates at the Merseyside club.

Ramirez is a attack minded midfielder with an eye for goal and given that the likes of Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam have failed to deliver following their arrivals at Liverpool in the summer there is a very real need to bring in a player who can effectively link midfield and attack.

Bologna would find it hard to turn down an offer of £16.2m for the former Penarol man who only cost the Serie A side £1.8m two seasons ago.
