Tottenham Line Up Deal to Sign £4m Real Madrid Bargain Buy

White Hart Lane boss wants French international.

AVB to ramp up Spurs’ summer spending with swoop for Real outcast Diarra

Lassana Diarra could be set to join his fourth Premier League club after Tottenham set their sights on the Real Madrid midfielder.

The former Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth star has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu and has been told he can leave the Spanish champions.

Diarra signed for the club for £20million in 2009 but has struggled to make an impression.

The 27-year-old has just one year left on his contract and could be available for as little as £4m as Madrid look to fund their own summer spending.

Lassana Diarra is a player who has often been linked with a move to White Hart Lane, more often that not this was down seemingly simple to the fact that the former Chelsea & Arsenal midfielder had Harry Redknapp connections (having played under the former Tottenham boss at Portsmouth) but now the French international is considered a target for the North London club as a player Andre Villas-Boas is said to be keen on.

There is no doubting Diarra’s talents and even though Tottenham have the likes of Scott Parker and Sandro in defensive midfield options the chance to land the Real Madrid man for just £4m is just too good a deal to pass up.

Clearly Tottenham have benefited from good business with the La Liga giants in the pass when Rafael Van der Vaart was picked up for just £8m and a move for the Paris ‘enforcer’ could well be a similar bargain buy this summer.

Diarra has struggled to retain a spot in the first team under Jose Mourinho and last term was less frequently used though still shared duties with German international Sami Khedira and made a total of 25 appearances in all competitions.
