Dutchman could stay with Gunners.
Robin van Persie could be set to sign a new contract with Arsenal after a dramatic u-turn over his future, reports Sky Sports.
The Dutchman goal-machine stunned the Gunners by announcing his unwillingness to sign a new contract with the club last week, citing differences in opinion with the owners and boss Arsene Wenger over the club’s direction.
But van Persie is now considering signing a new bumper deal with the north London club, snubbing interest from Premier League Champions Manchester City and Serie A winners Juventus.
The 28-year-old will hold talks with Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis this month, raising the possibility that he could yet committ his future to the club.
It is understood that the Netherlands international, who scored 30 league goals last season, is settled in London, where his children are at school but simply wants to win titles before the end of his career.
City are prepared to offer in excess of £30 million for van Persie, who has just one year remaining on his current contract, but first need to offload Emmanuel Adebayor and Edin Dzeko.
Juventus made a token £8 million bid for van Persie earlier this month. The Old Lady remain interested in the former Feyenoord star but are unlikely to be able to meet Arsenal’s asking price this summer if, that is, Van Persie decides to leave the Emirates.
