DONE DEAL: Michael Laudrup Completes First Signing As Swansea Boss, As Jose Manuel Flores Arrives At The Liberty Stadium

Spaniard completes switch.

Swansea have completed a £2 million deal for Genoa defender Jose Manuel Flores.

The Spaniard, known as Chico, played under Laudrup at Real Mallorca, is the Dane’s first signing as Swans manager.

The centre-back has three caps for Spain’s under-21 side and is expected to be joined at the Liberty by Villarreal midfielder Jonathan de Guzman.

“I know I am joining a club that has been growing over the last few years and is still ambitious to go even higher,” Flores told Swansea’s official website.

“Having played in La Liga and Serie A, two great leagues, it’s a dream come true to play in the Premier League, one of the best, if not the best in the world.

“I have been studying Swansea on the internet and I know I am joining a club with passionate supporters who are very close to the players.”

De Guzman is expected to join on a season-long loan from the Yellow Submarine. The Canadian-born star has four caps for the Netherlands under-21 team after choosing to represent the European country.
