Ashley Cole Defends Arsenal Fans During John Terry Race Trial

Blues defender puts lawyer in his place after idiotic remark.

First things first, you know you are not on a solid footing when you have to count on Ashley Cole as a character witness. However John Terry enlisted the support of the Chelsea full-back during his racism trial and in many ways the England international assisted the Blues skipper but also had time to put a prosecutor in his place whilst also defending the reputation of Arsenal fans, Arsenal fans who would probably very much like to see their former player hung, drawn and quartered, though perhaps not necessarily in that order.

See below the exchange between Cole and the prosecution.

Prosecution: “You used to play for Arsenal, nobody makes any noise at the Emirates do they?” Laughter is heard in the court.

Cole: “Am I supposed to laugh at that? If you’re saying Loftus Road is louder than the Emirates I’d say: ‘no, it’s not.’”

Prosecutor: “Ok, let’s not have that argument.”

Cole: “Well, you brought it up.”

And in one fowl swoop Cole’s previous transgressions and behaviour were forgiven by all Arsenal supporters on planet earth…well perhaps not. However the Chelsea man should be congratulated for his insistence on not rising to the bait and putting one particularly idiotic prosecution lawyer in his place.

Also, shouldn’t someone have jumped up and shouted ‘objection’ after the lawyer’s inane statement?
