Stamford Bridge side try again to snap up Bayer Leverkusen attacker.
Chelsea plot improved £20m bid for striker Schurrle… but Sturridge could be out
Chelsea are planning a new £20million offer for Germany striker Andre Schurrle.
The European Champions had a £17m bid for the 21-year-old front-man rejected earlier this month by Bayer Leverkusen, who are adamant they want to keep their man.

Chelsea are clearly very keen on signing German international Andre Schurrle and the West London side must be nearing an offer the Bayer Leverkusen side must be considering accepting, especially if the adaptable attacker himself pushes for a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 21 year old former Mainz man didn’t have the best of first seasons at the BayArena last term, notching up just nine goals in 40 appearances. However Schurrle has more than showed his potential when in action for his national team, scoring seven goals in 14 matches for Joachim Low’s side.
The adaptable forward can play either on the flank or as an orthodox forward and that level of adaptability is certainly worth more than £7m.
Roberto Di Matteo saw Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba leave Stamford Bridge and there are still massive questions to be asked about Fernando Torres and the need for more attacking options seems very apparent. Having brought in two creative talents to help unlock defences and provide assists, Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, the West London side needs more players who can tuck away the chances that are created.
