Old Trafford side want big fee for unwanted striker.
Berba’s United woes set to continue as Old Trafford club stand firm over £10m price tag
Dimitar Berbatov could be forced to see out the final year of his contract at Manchester United.
The unfancied forward has been told he can leave Old Trafford by Sir Alex Ferguson, but there have been no suitors prepared to meet the club’s £10million valuation for a player who made just five Barclays Premier League starts last term.

Bulgarian international Dimitar Berbatov is surely ready to leave Old Trafford having seen his first team opportunities practically die a death last term. The 31 year old has been very effective when called upon and with 27 goals from his last 28 Premier League appearances the Man United striker is in fact in the form of his life.
However the former Tottenham man is now behind Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck in the starting eleven pecking order and with just a year left on his current deal Sir Alex Ferguson may well listen to offers for a player that cost the club a record £30.75m four years ago but seemingly only if someone is ready to stump up £10m.
Though Berbatov has displayed good form when called upon it seems highly unlikely any side will put in such a bid, not with the forward available on a free in a year’s time.
Expect some bench warming and a Carling Cup run-out or two next term.
