Loftus Road midfielder on his way to Ewood Park.

Whilst it’s not a huge surprise that Mark Hughes would look to offload Joey Barton one wonders exactly why Steve Kean would look to bring the the 29 year old to Ewood Park given that the QPR man has a 12 match ban to serve.
Mark Hughes has made a number of intelligent purchases this summer with Robert Green, Park Ji-Sung, Andy Johnson and Ryan Nelsen all moving to the West London club and Samba Diakate completing a permanent move to Loftus Road following a successful loan spell last term. Joey Barton’s behaviour during the final game of the season could well have cost QPR dear and it was only thanks to results elsewhere that the club did not suffer relegation to the Championship.
Blackburn Rovers have done similarly well during the transfer window, bringing in Danny Murphy, Leon Best and Portuguese veteran Nuno Gomes moving to the club.
Whilst there is no doubting Barton could do a good job in the English second tier given he will be out for a huge chunk of the coming season you have to wonder why Kean would look to bring in the former Man City and Newcastle United man this summer.
