Cottagers eye Belgian.Fulham are keen on signing powerhouse forward Romelu Lukaku on a season-long loan from rivals Chelsea, reports Setanta.
The Cottagers have reportedly entered negotiations with the European Champions for the 19-year-old, who signed for the Blues last summer in an £18 million deal.
The former Anderlecht goal-scorer endured a frustrating season at Stamford Bridge, starting just one Premier League match – on the last day of the season against relegated Blackburn – and admitting he took no pleasure in the west Londoners FA Cup and Champions League double.
Chelsea are prepared to listen to loan offers for the powerful Belgian but boss Roberto Di Matteo has ruled out a permanent move away from the Stamford Bridge.
Di Matteo is understood to be keen for Lukaku to gain Premier League experience and has vetoed a return to Belgium on loan.
Fulham manager Martin Jol has already added former Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega to his ranks this summer but is still chasing striking reinforcements after seeing Andy Johnson, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Bobby Zamora leave the club.
Chelsea still hope to conclude a deal for Porto striker Hulk before the start of the season and may hold on to Lukaku until after the Brazilian has completed his move.
