Arsenal Hand Trial To Swedish Wonderkid

Gunners trial Wahlquist.

Arsenal have handed a trial to 15-year-old Swedish centre-back Linus Wahlquist.

The youngster announced on twitter that he will head to north London next week, presumably to train with the Gunners ahead of a potential move.

Wahlquist is a Swedish youth international currently playing for IFK Norrkoping.

The youngster had a trial at Sunderland in January but the Black Cats decided against a move, suggesting that Arsene Wenger has clearly identified something that Martin O’Neill did not.

Elsewhere, Arsenal trialist M’Baye Niang of Caen will reportedly also train with Tottenham while he is in Lodnon.

The 17-year-old forward is being tracked by a host of Premier League clubs including the north London rivals and Stoke.

Arsenal looked to have won the race for the starlet by securing him on trail but it has emerged that the youngster will also speak to Spurs before deciding on his future.
