QPR Plot Move for Portuguese Centre Back Bruno Alves

Loftus Road will fight Fiorentina for Zenit defender.

According to Italian source CalcioMercato QPR are lining up a move for Portuguese international Bruno Alves.

The 30 year old centre back has spent the last two seasons at Zenit St Peterburg, helping them to the Russian Premier League title last term before heading to the Euro 2012 finals where he helped Portugal to the semi-finals and put in some solid no-nonsense displays.

This source states that Fiorentina will rival QPR for the attention of the former FC Porto man who may well be ready to consider moves away from Russia.

Mark Hughes has already made big moves to improve a QPR squad that came painfully close to relegation last term. The Loftus Road side, with the healthy backing or co-owner Tony Fernandes, have already signed Robert Green, Ji-Sung Park, Samba Diakate, Ryan Nelsen and Andy Johnson this summer.
