Sneijder wants Premier League snub.
Netherlands captain Wesley Sneijder has urged his compatriot Ibrahim Afellay to snub Arsenal and Liverpool and join him at Inter Milan, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Afellay is set to leave Barcelona this summer after holding showdown talks with new boss Tito Vilanova. The 26-year-old was keen to fight for his place at the Nou Camp but the Catalan tactician has informed him that his playing time is likely to be limited next season.
Liverpool and Arsenal are both interested in the winger with Barca reportedly willing to listen to offers as low as £6 million for the former PSV star.
Afellay arrived in Spain in January 2011 and enjoyed a strong start to his Barcelona career, starting several La Liga matches and appearing as a sub in the Champions League Final victory over Manchester United.
However, the Dutchman spent most of last season on the sidelines after suffering a cruciate ligament injury and failed to win back his place in the team after a seven month layoff.
Afellay managed to prove his fitness ahead of the Netherlands disastrous Euro 2012 campaign and started all three games as the Oranje crashed out in the group stage.
Arsenal and Liverpool are both considering bids for Afellay, with the Gunners keen to find a replacement for Andrei Arshavin who is heading back to Russia and Liverpool struggling to land top target Clint Dempsey.
But Sneijder is becoming increasingly influential at the San Siro and is pushing coach Andrea Stramaccioni to make a bid for his compatriot.
