Spartak Moscow to Re-Ignite Interest In Everton War Horse Johnny Heitinga

Goodison Park favourite linked with Russian move.

Spartak Moscow are set to revive interest in Everton defender Johnny Heitinga.

The Russians failed with a £4.2million offer for the Dutch international in February.
Heitinga, 28, was also wanted by Fenerbahce last month but an offer failed to materialise.

Johnny Heitinga is something of a cult figure at Goodison Park, with the Dutch international well loved by the Toffees fans for his whole-hearted displays for the Merseyside club. David Moyes may struggle to keep the 28 year old former Ajax & Atletico Madrid man as Spartak Moscow are undoubtedly able to offer the Everton man a pay hike as well as Champions League football for the coming season.

Moyes may feel that the sale of a player like Heitinga would allay the need to sell some of his prized assets, players like Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, as Everton look to deal with ongoing financial hardships that seem to haunt the club.

Heitinga has made 105 appearances over the course of the past three seasons and is still very much a regular in the Dutch national team set-up.
