Emirates Stadium side want Malaga man.
AS are today reporting that Arsenal are readying a €20m (£15.5m) move for Malaga winger Santi Cazorla.
Arsene Wenger may well see the talented Spanish international as a potential replacement for Theo Walcott who is locked in contract talks with just a year to run on his current deal.
Apparently Malaga’s Qatari owners are looking to cut costs even though the La Liga side have secured their maiden Champions League berth for the coming campaign and there will be no shortage of interest in the 27 year old Spanish international.
The former Villarreal man was one of many big names that Malaga brought in last summer but now it appears that the La Liga side may be willing to accept offers for the pint sized performer who can play on the wing or as an advanced attacking midfielder.
Cazorla has racked up 45 national team caps and is a top quality experienced player who could well jump at the chance of a move to the Premier League this summer. The two time European Championship winner is also apparently a Tottenham target but as the White Hart Lane do not have Champions League football to offer the Asturias born attacker, the Gunners may well have the upper hand in the chase for his signature.
There could be an even greater need for wide options if Andrei Arshavin complete a permanent move back to Zenit St Petersburg though the offer for Cazorla would break the Gunners transfer record and as such some Arsenal fans may doubt the possibility of such a deal being completed this summer.
