AL AIN IN TALKS TO SIGN ARSENAL’S PARK CHU-YOUNG

The signing of South Korean forward Park Chu-Young confused many Arsenal fans last summer, some questioning the ability the striker possessed given that he was arriving at the Premier League top four side via relegated Ligue 1 side Monaco and it seemed last term that Arsene Wenger didn’t have all that much confidence in the 27 year old, handing him just one sub Premier League appearance.
Still Park Chu-Young was banging goals for his national team with alarming regularity but clearly the quality of opposition was not up to Premier League standard so one wonders what the future holds for the Daegu born Arsenal man.
His chances of first team football have further diminished with the arrival of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud and Moroccan Marouane Chamakh and adaptable attacker Gervinho are still ahead of Park Chu-Young in the Emirates Stadium pecking order, therefore a move to Al Ain could well tempt the Gunners man.
Arsene Wenger would probably sanction such a sale, if the fee was deemed fair, and Chu-Young would join Asamoah Gyan at the UAE club, having recently completed a permanent switch from Sunderland.
