Fresh Hope For West Ham As Guti Reveals River Plate Snub

Hammers still keen on Spaniard.

West Ham are considering another bid for former Galactico Guti after the Spaniard rejected a move to River Plate.

The 35-year-old is a free agent after leaving Besiktas in November 2011 and is yet to find a new club.

Newly-promoted West Ham are keen to land the playmaker, who spent 15 years at Real Madrid before joining the Turkish club.

The Spaniard reportedly turned down an initial approach from the Hammers at the start of the month but boss Sam Allardyce is considering a fresh approach after Guti revealed he is not interested in a move to Buenos Aires with River.

“I’m not going to play for River, and, honestly, I don’t want to play in Argentina,” the former Spain international revealed on his Twitter page.

“But I’m grateful for the interest.”

Guti joined Real as a youngster in 1986, and made over 500 appearances for the La Liga giants, playing alongside greats such as Zinidine Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo and Cristiano Ronaldo.
