Brazilian insists he can play with compatriot.
Shakhtar playmaker Willian has insisted that he can still join Chelsea despite the Blues’ interest in his compatriot Oscar, reports Goal.com.
Internacional star Oscar has reportedly had a medical at Stamford Bridge ahead of a £25 million move but last week Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu revealed the Ukrainians had rejected a £26 million offer from Chelsea for Willian.
Willian plays a similar role to his Brazilian teammate but is still hopeful that a deal can be struck with the European Champions.
“Of course I really wanted to play for a club like Chelsea, a club that won the Champions League. I’m really annoyed that the board didn’t let me go. It would have been good for me and for the club too,” he said.
“I’d play in a big league and would be able to grow as a player. This is not a message to anyone, everyone knows I want to leave.”
And the 23-year-old believes that Chelsea’s interest in Oscar predates their bid for him.
“Chelsea had already reached an agreement regarding Oscar when they made that last offer to sign me.
“I’m sure it won’t be a problem as we are different kinds of players. He is more like a playmaker and I am more like an attacking midfielder.
“But it’s a matter of waiting. A lot can still happen,” he added.
