QPR and Sunderland enter race for South African.
QPR and Sunderland are ready to rival Everton for the signature of Steven Pienaar.
The South African is set to leave Tottenham this summer after playing just 18 times since moving to White Hart Lane from Everton in January 2011.
Pienaar, 30, spent the second half of last season back at Goodison Park on loan and the Toffees had looked poised to re-sign the 30-year-old this summer.
The Bafana Bafana skipper has been left in Lodnon – along with want-away star Luka Modric – while Spurs tour the US but a move has stalled with Everton unwilling to pay Tottenham’s £5 million asking price.
And Sunderland or QPR could now capitalise on the situation with both considering rival bids, according to Sky Sports.
Pienaar, however, seems to feel at home in the blue half of Liverpool and produced his best form at the back-end of last season, scoring 4 league goals in just 14 appearances.
