Chelsea have apparently made a significant offer for Atletico Madrid starlet Oliver Torres according to the Marca. The 17 year old midfielder is highly thought of and has been linked with interest from other Premier League sides but Blues owner Roman Abramovich is apparently keen to beat all other interested parties to land the teenager Spanish Under 19 international.
The West London club have already snapped up Eden Hazard, Marko Marin, Thorgan Hazard and Brazilian youngster Oscar and spent well over £50m doing so but as well as interest in this young Spaniard it appears that the Champions League holders are keen to bring in a new right-back.
Chelsea have received a boost in their bid to sign Marseille right-back Cesar Azpilicueta after the French club admitted they may cash in on the young Spaniard.
The 22-year-old, who is currently in England playing for Spain in the Olympic football tournament, is seen by Chelsea as the ideal man to replace Jose Bosingwa – who has left the club after his contract expired.
And Marseille’s sporting director Jose Anigo has admitted that £7million-rated Azpilicueta may be sold to raise funds for new signings.

Chelsea released Jose Bosingwa in the summer and left themselves with only the adaptable Serbian Branislav Ivanovic as a likely replacement so the need to bring in a specialist for the position is a very real one.
Azpilicueta has put in two consistent seasons with Marseille and is now on the fringes of the senior Spanish national team set-up, clearly a move to Stamford Bridge could help in that regard and if this source is to be believed a move is on the cards.
If Marseille are indeed open to losing the talented attack minded 22 year old then he may well prove to be Roberto Di Matteo’s fifth major summer signing.
