Stamford Bridge man could be Craven Cottage bound.
Fulham weigh up move for Benayoun
Sky Sports understands Fulham are eyeing a move for Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun.
Benayoun is likely to leave Chelsea this summer as he seems surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
The Israel international spent last season on loan at Arsenal and the summer arrivals of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Oscar have pushed him further down the pecking order in Roberto Di Matteo’s plans.
Fulham boss Martin Jol is thought to be an admirer of Benayoun and is considering bringing him to Craven Cottage.
The Cottagers are thought to have enquired about taking the 32-year-old on loan with a view to a permanent move.
A move to Fulham may be in the best interest of both Chelsea and Yossi Benayoun. Though the Israeli has traveled with the Blues on their North American tour it does seem highly unlikely the utility man will be high up Roberto Di Matteo’s pecking order.
Martin Jol may well have extra need for a player of Benayoun’s quality if he loses Clint Dempsey, who has been strongly linked with a move away from Craven Cottage this summer.
The 32 year old former West Ham & Liverpool man spent last term on loan at Arsenal but Arsene Wenger elected to not make the temporary move a permanent one, leaving Benayoun is a state of limbo, a move from one West London side to another could be just what is needed to get his career back on track after a tough time at Stamford Bridge.
