Old Trafford man on his way to Turkey?
Galatasaray are ready to end Dimitar Berbatov’s Manchester United misery. The £30.75m Bulgarian striker has spent the summer looking for a way out of Old Trafford, knowing that he no longer figures in Sir Alex Ferguson’s plans.
United have extended his contract by another year, but will allow him to leave if any club is prepared to pay around £5m for the 31-year-old.
Berbatov’s fate has been sealed by Ferguson’s attempts to sign Arsenal’s Robin van Persie.
But the United manager’s summer targets have also placed question marks over the future of Javier Hernandez and Nani as he has made a shake-up of his attack a priority after missing out on the title to City on goal difference.

Indeed this source is correct to state that Bulgarian international Dimitar Berbatov is in something of a nightmare period of his four year Old Trafford spell. Sir Alex Ferguson values the former Tottenham man as his fourth choice striker, despite the fact he has scored 27 goals from his last 28 Premier League starts.
A fresh start is just what the 31 year old, who is in the goal-scoring form of his career but unable to hold down a regular spot in the Man United first team.
£5m seems more than a fair price, even for a player who would cost nothing in a year’s time, and it’s a price that Galatasaray seem willing to pay.
The Istanbul giants clinched the Turkish Super Lig title at the death last term and have a Champions League berth to offer Berbatov.
