Barton plays a half, with loan move still an option.
Joey Barton played 45 minutes for Fleetwood Town as the Football League newcomers beat Kilmarnock 4-0 in a friendly.
The QPR midfielder is keen to build-up his fitness after being left out of the Hoops’ pre-season tour of Malaysia, with a possible loan move away from Loftus Road being mooted.
The QPR midfielder is training with the Cod Army but was not expected to play a game.
Barton is banned for the first 12 games of the new season after being sent-off on the final day of the last campaign, following an ugly clash with Man City pair Carlos Tevez and Sergio Augero.
It is understood that the Rs are considering sending the 29-year-old on loan to the Football League in order to speed up his ban and Barton has admitted that there are a number of offers on the table.
Barton told the Fleetwood official website: “It was a pleasure to be out there,” he said. “I really enjoyed it.
“It will take me a while to get up to speed because I’m three or four weeks behind some of these lads.”
“Getting much-needed match fitness… is the reason behind coming to Fleetwood.
“It was painful because I think it was only my fifth day of pre-season. I’ve had eight or nine weeks sitting on a beach with my feet up after the exploits of the Premier League season. It’s good to get back.”
Barton was fined six weeks’ wages by QPR but remains happy to stay at the west London club on a permanent basis.
