Tottenham Eye Deal For £14m-Rated Russian International

Spurs in talks for Euro 2012 star.

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with CSKA Moscow over the transfer of Euro 2012 star Alan Dzagoev, according to Russian website Lifesports.ru.

The forward lit up the Championship in Poland and Ukraine last month, with three goals in the group stage before Russia’s disappointing exit.

And Spurs are heading a host of clubs keen on the 22-year-old as they prepare for life after Luka Modric.

CSKA are understood to be reluctant to lose Dzagoev but are prepared to let the forward join a major European club for the right price.

The winger has previously spoken of his desire to play in one of the continent’s top leagues and Spurs’ north London rivals Arsenal and Internzaionale are also thought to be interested in his signature.

Tottenham are in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid over Modric’s transfer and expected to receive at least £35 million from the Croatian’s sale. Los Blancos have tried to offer Spurs Nuri Sahin in part exchange but new head-coach Andre Villas-Boas is keen to bring in his own players, and has made signing Dzagoev a priority.
