West Ham Line Up Shock Move to Re-Sign Manchester City Striker Carlos Tevez

Upton Park side want Etihad Stadium star to make East London return.

WEST HAM are currently in the throes of considering a move for their former striker Carlos Tevez, according to reports.

Carlos Tevez has been linked to a move away from Manchester City in a bid to pave the way for Robin Van Persie.

And now it seems West Ham are preparing to see if they can recapture their former star on loan.

West Ham would have to stump up a huge fee however if they are to bag him with Manchester City asking for £25million for Tevez.

So what are the chances of Carlos Tevez moving back to Upton Park? Well some would say slim to none but clearly many would have said the same, and more, about the likelihood of the Argentine’s previous move to West Ham, which may well still rank as one of the biggest shock transfers of English football history.

In his previous spell at the East London club the striker helped keep the Hammers clear of the drop, scoring seven goals in his last ten games to help keep West Ham up. The 28 year old striker then left for Man United before moving to local rivals Man City.

Tevez has proven very successful at Man City in playing terms, scoring 57 goals from 101 appearances but Roberto Mancini has also had to deal with the ‘other-side’ of Tevez’s character. The Italian had to endure countless run-ins with the one time Boca Juniors man, well known incidents such as his refusal to come on as a sub at Bayern Munich and the resultant AWOL return to Buenos Aires had left many believing the striker’s days at the club were numbered.

However Tevez did return to action at the tail end of 2011/12, even managing a hat-trick at Norwich City, however Mancini may well still wish to offload the troubled forward.

Sam Allardyce would clearly love to have a proven Premier League striker spearheading the West Ham attack but moves to land Tevez are very unlikely to amount to much.
