Arsenal to Launch £6.4m Bid for Belgian Marksman as Arsene Wenger Looks to Strengthen Attack

Emirates Stadium side want Olympiakos forward.

Arsenal are believed to be considering a bid for Olympiakos striker Kevin Mirallas as they await the outcome of Robin van Persie’s transfer saga.

The Belgium forward Mirallas, 24, is available for £6.4m and has been scouted by Liverpool also.
Mirallas can play wide or up front, where he shone for his Greek club last season, picking up the league’s top scorer and player of the year gongs.

The Gunners face competition from all over Europe, with CSKA Moscow one of those to have shown serious interest, seeing a £5m bid rejected earlier this year.

With Lukas Podolski and Olivier in the bag and Santi Cazorla set to become Arsenal’s third major summer signing Arsene Wenger has now reportedly set his sights on Belgian international Kevin Mirallas. Though this source seems align any such move to Robin Van Persie’s fate one wouldn’t imagine that the Olympiakos man is considered a replacement for the Dutch goal machine.

The 24 year old may well be considered as a back-up option which may be a big improvement on the likes of Marouane Chamakh, Nicklas Bendtner and Park Chu-Young, who have all failed to make the grade at the North London club.

Mirallas has been a big hit in Greece, helping his side to back to back domestic title and last term netting 20 goals and finishin the top scorer in the Greek Super League.

The former Lille and Saint-Etienne man is an adaptable attacking tool who can play on the flank as well as his preferred orthodox striking role.
