Wolves Striker Steven Fletcher Announces Decision On His Future Via Twitter

Fletcher confirms desire to leave Molineaux.Wolves striker Steven Fletcher has taken to twitter to announce that he has handed in a transfer request at the Midlands club.

The Scottish forward is wanted by Sunderland and it is understood that the Black Cats submitted a final bid of £12 million for Fletcher on Tuesday.

It is not yet clear whether relegated Wolves have accepted the offer, but Fletcher announced on twitter that he wants to leave the Molineaux outfit, claiming his head had gone.

The 25-year-old’s announcement follows the news that Stoke have agreed a fee with Wolves for the transfer of winger Michael Kightly and, with forward Matt Jarvis also coveted by a host of the Premier League clubs, new boss Stale Solbakken could face losing three of his most talented players in quick succession.

Fletcher’s former club Burnley will be due 15 per cent of any profits Wolves make on the player they signed for £7 million in 2010.

Since arriving from Lancashire, the Scotland international has impressed for struggling Wolves and scored more headed goals – 7 -than anyone else in the Premier League last season.
