Middlesbrough Interested In Season-Long Loan Deal For Chelsea Wonderkid

Boro want England under-21 international for the season.

Middlesbrough are eyeing a surprise loan deal for Chelsea youngster John McEachran.

The Teeside club want to sign the 19-year-old on a season-long loan deal after Chelsea indicated they would be willing to let McEachran drop down to the Championship for the coming campaign.

The highly-rated youngster spent last campaign on loan at Swansea but barely featured and the European Champions want to ensure the midfielder gets time on the pitch.

Boro are currently in discussions with the Blues about bringing McEachran to the north east.

Boss Tony Mowbray has been busy in the transfer market this summer, bringing in the likes of free agent Jonathan Woodgate on a three-year deal.

But the Scot admitted there is likely to be more transfer activity at the Riverside before the end of the month.

“I would hope there would still be a little movement, both in and out,” he told the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette.

“There’s three weeks left of the transfer window so let’s see what develops.”
