Stoke City Line Up Move for £3m Aston Villa Defender Richard Dunne

Potters chase Irish centre back.

Stoke want Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne. The Republic ace, 32, can go for £3million – although he won’t be ready to play until October after a groin op.

Tony Pulis may be keen to beef up his back-line and a move for Aston Villa centre back Richard Dunne may be an intelligent inexpensive option to pursue.

The Potters boss may feel the need to strengthen at the back having opted to not renew Jonathan Woodgate’s contract and also sold Danny Collins to Nottingham Forest.

Whilst Dunne may not be the most talented of defenders, and his passing ability can indeed be questioned, the Irish international veteran always gives 100% and is a more than competent force at the back and with over 500 appearances to his name is clearly more than able to offer Stoke City a sturdy defensive option.
