United to beat rivals City to striker.
Universidad de Chile striker Angelo Henriquez has completed a medical at Manchester United ahead of a £3.5m move.
United have beaten off interest from fierce rivals Man City to land the highly-rated 18-year-old, who is set to join his compatriot Javier Hernandez at Old Trafford.
Henrique’s brother Cesar confirmed that the talented striker has completed a medical ahead of a move to the Premier League giants.
“His exam was done today. I have talked to him and he is happy and calm,” Cesar told Chilean newspaper La Tercera.
Cesar Henriquez confirmed that United had been tracking his brother ever since he appeared in the Manchester Cup for Unisersidad’s youth side over two years ago.
“The agents would come and watch Angelo at all his matches,” Cesar added. “They would talk for a long time with him and in some ways would counsel him.
“They started [evaluating] with 10 players in South America and now only Angelo is left. He has made great sacrifices, but it is his dream to play for Manchester United.”
