Spaniard nearing Turin switch.
Juventus are confident of finalising an £18m deal for Tottenham target Fernando Llorente, reports Goal.com.
The Athletic Bilbao striker has made it clear he wants to leave the Basque club, after refusing to extend his current deal which expires next summer.
Spurs have been tracking the Spanish international for some time but Juventus are desperate for new forward after missing out on Robin van Persie and believe a deal for Llorente can be struck before the end of the week.
Bilbao want to £26m for Llorente but it is understood that the Serie A holders are only willing to pay in the region of £18m.
Despite the significant gap, the Old Lady’s general director Guiseppe Marotta and Bilbao president Josu Urrutia have held advanced discussions and the Italians believe their La Liga counterparts will eventually lower their demands.
Bilbao would prefer not to sell the 27-year-old to another Spanish club and Llorente would like to play in the Champions League, making a switch to Turin attractive to all parties.
Spurs continue to monitor the situation but will now turn their attentions to securing Emmanuel Adebayor and Brazilian Leandro Damiao.
