Though Mark Hughes has brought in some very astute signings this summer he then watched on as QPR imploded at home to Swansea City 5-0. Now the Loftus Road boss is looking to strengthen his leaky defence with a move for out of favour Tottenham defender Michael Dawson.
The 28 year old has had injury concerns over the past few seasons and does not appear to be part of Andre Villas-Boas’s plans and therefore a £7m offer may well be gratefully received by the North London club.
Dawson moved to White Hart Lane from Nottingham Forest seven years ago and has racked up 249 appearances for Tottenham, netting 8 goals in the process and winning four England caps.
Andre Villas-Boas brought in Jan Vertonghen over the summer and has seen youngster Steven Caulker force his way into the first reckoning so the Portuguese boss may well be happy to cash in on Dawson this month.
