Liverpool Target Clint Dempsey Again Omitted From Fulham Squad

Jol feels Dempsey is unfit to play.

Liverpool target Clint Dempsey has been omitted from Fulham’s squad for the second consecutive weekend.

The US international has told Fulham that he wants to move to Anfield but Liverpool are yet to meet the Cottagers’ £10m asking-price.

Dempsey sat out Fulham’s 5-0 opening day victory over Norwich and is not in the squad for Saturday’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

It is understood that the forward, who has scored 30 goals in two seasons for Fulham, has told the club he has no interest in playing for them again.

With the situation at stalemate, Fulham boss Martin Jol has been left frustrated by Liverpool’s refusal to make a bid.

“It’s the same situation. There has been no formal bid on the table and nothing has changed,” the Dutchman is quoted as saying by London24.

Earlier in the summer, Dempsey refused to participate in the west Londoners pre-season training camp in Austria.
