Toffees to seal £2m deal for Caen forward.
Everton are closing in on a £2m deal for Caen wonderkid M’Baye Niang and boss David Moyes says he may make more signings before the end of the month.
Niang, 17, is one of the most sought after youngsters in European football and has had trials at Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and AC Milan this summer.
But Everton look to have won the race for the young forward and boss Moyes says he hopes to add more new faces before the 31 August transfer deadline.
“I’d like to add to the squad if we could just to make sure we’ve got enough bodies,” Moyes is quoted as saying by the Metro.
“If I can add a loan or something came up which we could manage, then I would look to do it.
“I don’t think it is my strongest squad [ever]. We have just not got any injuries at the moment.
“I’ve got a bit of cover in some places but the numbers are down. But the flexibility we’ve got in the squad with [Steven] Naismith, Fellaini, [Leon] Osman, [Kevin] Mirallas, means we can cover things.
“But if we lost any group of numbers, we’d be struggling.”
Everton have beaten Manchester United and Aston Villa in their first two league games and added Naismith and Mirallas, as well as Steven Pienaar to the squad.
However, the Toffees have lost star-man Jack Rodwell, with the England youngster joining Manchester City for £12m.
