Chelsea Target Hulk To Stay At Porto After Club Reject £39m Offer

Brazilian not for sale, says president.

Porto have rejected a £39m offer from Russian club Zenit St Petersburg for striker Hulk and stressed that the Brazilian is not for sale.

Hulk revealed earlier this month that he was keen to leave the Portuguese club, amid interest from European Champions Chelsea.

The Blues were first linked with the 26-year-old last summer when Andre Villas-Boas was at the helm at Stamford Bridge but have retain an interest despite the Portuguese’s departure.

The Stamford Bridge outfit reportedly regard the powerful left-footer as the idea replacement for Didier Drogba, who left the club in June.

Villas-Boas, who managed Hulk at Porto, retains an interest in his former charge but is aware that his new club Tottenham cannot afford his wages or transfer fee.

Porto president Pinto da Costa has revealed that the club have rejected a huge offer from Russian Champions Zenit.

“They offered €50 million and I refused,” the Porto president is quoted as saying in Portuguese newspaper Record.

“For that I can guarantee that neither Zenit nor any club will be successful [in their attempts to sign Hulk].”
