DONE DEAL: QPR Complete Signing of Inter Milan Keeper Julio Cesar

Loftus Road side land yet another high-profile signing.

LEGENDARY Brazilian number one Julio Cesar has agreed a four-year deal at Loftus Road.

The 32 year-old goalkeeper – who has 64 international caps to his name – has agreed a contract until the summer of 2016, after leaving Inter Milan.

The deal, however, is subject to the player receiving international clearance and being granted a visa.

So QPR land yet another high-profile signing. The capture of Brazilian international Julio Cesar is a tremendous statement of intent from the West London club but one does wonder where such a capture leaves England international Robert Green, who only arrived at Loftus Road earlier this summer.

Inter Milan boss Andrea Stramaccioni appears to be planning for the future and having allowed veterans Diego Forlan and Lucio to leave the San Siro boss was clearly happy to allow 32 year old Cesar to leave the Serie A giants.

Cesar spent seven seasons at Inter Milan, making 299 appearances and in the process winning five domestic titles and the Champions League triumph and may have felt the time was right for a new challenge.

Mark Hughes may have felt the need to push for another custodian after Green shipped in five goals in QPR’s first Premier League match of the season at home to Swansea City.
