Anfield side line up bid for Stamford Bridge attacker.
Sky Sports understands Liverpool are lining up a move for Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has identified Sturridge as the man to replace Andy Carroll who left on loan for West Ham on Thursday.
Sturridge provides greater attacking flexibility due to his ability to play in a wide position as well as in a central striker role.
The 22-year-old England international could be interested in making a switch in order to play first-team football.

Having seen Andy Carroll offloaded to West Ham on a season long loan deal, Brendan Rodgers will certainly be thinking of ways to boost his Anfield strike-force and a move for Chelsea youngster Daniel Sturridge would be an ambitious move to line up with just a day left of the current transfer window.
With Carroll out of the picture Liverpool have fairly few attacking options, with Fabio Borini and Luis Suarez being the only senior strikers in Rodgers’ squad, with the likes of Raheem Sterling being able to fill in up front if needed.
22 year old Blues attacker Sturridge has played just 22 minutes of Chelsea’s first three Premier League fixtures and last term Roberto Di Matteo didn’t appear to show all that much faith in the England international when he left the former Man City man out of both legs of the Champions League encounter with Barcelona as well as both the FA Cup and Champions League finals.
Rodgers will hope to be able to make a significant offer for the Chelsea forward as it’s possible that Di Matteo would consider selling the adaptable forward if he isn’t a crucial part of his first team plans.
Such a sale may be made all the more plausible if Chelsea continue their spending spree and land another forward before the transfer window slams shut.
