Emirates Stadium striker Turin bound.
Juventus have confirmed the signing of Nicklas Bendtner from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal.
The Denmark international has been linked with a move to Turin over the last few days, as the Serie A champions failed in their bid to land Manchester United striker, who has since joined Premier League side Fulham.
Bendtner, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, was identified as an alternative to the Bulgarian striker and he has now completed a move to Antonio Conte’s side, who retain an option to buy the player at the end of the season.
Having spent last term on loan at Sunderland the giant striker returned to North London but did not join Arsenal on their Asian tour and it was therefore obvious that Wenger had opted to cut the 24 year old out of his first team squad.
Arsene Wenger has been looking to permanently offload Nicklas Bendtner for the best part of 18 months and it appears that the Danish forward is set to leave the Emirates Stadium for Serie A side Juventus.
Juventus clinched the domestic title last term without losing a game but had managed to do so without much in the way of effective striking options and the Turin side may feel that Bendtner has the ability to make it in Italy.
Any loan deal may well include a clause to make the switch to Turin a permanent one.
Bendtner has made a total of 157 appearances for Arsenal, of which 78 were from the bench, and scored 43 goals in the process.
