ZERO TO HERO

Underrated players at big clubs who move in search of regular football can often be wise buys:

Charlie Adam: A sensation at Blackpool, Adam struggled to recreate the form he showed in his debut Premier League season after he joined Liverpool last summer. After moving to Stoke, the Scot could benefit from more game time and being a bigger fish in a smaller pond. A dead ball specialist in an aerially strong team Adam could soon be wracking up assist points. Adam’s value has already dipped from £7m to £6.8m, now could be the time to snap him up.

Adam Johnson: Chronically underused by Man City, Johnson can both create and score goals. His move to Sunderland will bring more playing time for winger. Could soon prove very good value at £7m.

Andy Carroll: The big striker will play almost every game for Sam Alladyce’s West Ham in a system built for him. Carroll’s early season sufferings at Anfield have seen his value dip to £8.4m, making him a potential bargain should, as expected, he rediscover his scoring touch.

TIME TO STEP UP

Players from middle to lower weight clubs who are given their dream moves can also provide great value before the added points collected by playing in a better team prompts a rise in price:

Moussa Dembele: Has been consistently excellent for a number of years at Fulham and started this season on fire. With Rafa Van der Vaart gone, Dembele could well play a more advanced role under Andre Villas-Boas resulting in more goals and more points. At £6m the new Spurs midfielder is a bargain!

Victor Moses: Although applauded, very few people gave Moses the full praise he deserved for his exploits at Wigan last year, reflected by his impressive haul of 140 points for the relation candidates. Moses could thrive at the Bridge, and could see a lot of game time, with Daniel Sturridge reportedly unfancied by Roberto Di Matteo.
