Former Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United & Man United man makes Britannia Stadium move.
STOKE CITY have today won the race to sign England international striker Michael Owen on a free transfer, subject to Premier League Board approval.
The former Liverpool and Real Madrid hit-man has penned a one-year deal at the Britannia Stadium, following his release from Manchester United at the end of the 2011/12 campaign.

Weeks of speculation have now finally been put to bed as injury prone striker Michael Owen puts pen to paper on a one year deal with Stoke City.
The 32 year old was released by Man United at the end of last season after three years at the Old Trafford club, most of which were either spent on the bench or the treatment table.
Tony Pulis will hope that his calculated risk pays off and will no doubt have had to fork out a fair whack to cover the former England international’s wage demands.
Ironically Owen’s last Premier League appearance came at the Britannia Stadium where he came on as an early sub for Javier Hernandez last September. The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle United man’s last top tier start came in October 2010 against Sunderland.
