Liverpool Line Up Approach to Sign Croatian Free Agent Ivan Klasnic

Anfield side line up bid for free agent.

According to Okezone Liverpool are set to make an approach for Croatian international Ivan Klasnic as Brendan Rodgers looks at possible ways to boost his threadbare firepower options now that the summer transfer window has slammed shut.

32 year old Klasnic is now without a club having been released by Bolton. The experienced forward enjoyed successful spells in the Bundesliga and in Ligue One before he moved to the Reebok Stadium three years ago, initially on a temporary basis.

At Bolton Wanderers the powerful forward managed 24 goals from 94 appearances, although that statistic is a little misleading as 50 of those appearances came from the bench.

Rodgers has publicly stated that he had hoped to bring in another forward, especially after sending Andy Carroll out on a season long loan spell at West Ham and therefore a move for reinforcements seems very likely.

The Liverpool manager has just two recognised senior striking options at present, Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini but Brendan Rodgers can also call upon talented youngsters Adam Morgan and Raheem Sterling as potential front-line options if needed, especially in relation to mounting Capital One Cup and Europa League challenges.
