Hulk (Porto to Chelsea)
The beastly Brazilian striker was labelled Didier Drogba’s heir-apparent and continuously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge throughout June and July. Hulk even admitted he wanted to leave Porto for the European Champions but, all the while, the Portuguese club insisted they had not received a bid from the Blues. In the end, Chelsea appeared to bulk at his hefty asking price and wage demands and the powerful left-footer joined Russian outfit Zenit St Petersburg for nearly £40m.
