Sir Alex Ferguson In New York to Meet Next Man United Boss Pep Guardiola Ahead of Summer 2013 Hand-Over

Old Trafford boss meets successor.

El Mundo Deportivo claim that Sir Alex Ferguson has conducted a ‘hand-over’ meeting with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola in New York ahead of a prospective move that will see the Spaniard take the Old Trafford hot-seat next summer.

The two have enjoyed a close relationship in recent years and there has been a great deal of speculation about Guardiola’s likely move to replace the Scottish veteran and this source believes such a move could occur as soon as next year.

Sir Alex Ferguson will clearly be a very tough character to replace after 26 years in the post but Man United may well feel that Pep Guardiola is the perfect man for the job. Indeed some believe the part of the reason for the 41 year old’s move to New York was so that he could improve his English ahead of a move to the Premier League.

Guardiola was of course astonishingly successful during his four year tenure as Barcelona boss and did complete a double Champions League success over Man United in 2009 and 2011.
