(Video) Welcome To Manchester: Mario Balotelli Stuns Richard Wright With A Rocket Free-Kick In Man City Training

Mad-cap Mario names the wall figures “Messi, Iniesta and Xavi” before a hammering a free-kick past Wright.

Perhaps the most bizarre signings of transfer deadline day was the arrival of former Ipswich reserve ‘keeper Richard Wright at Champions Man City.

For the fans camped outside City’s training complex last Friday, it must have been sobering to see the calamtious ex-Arsenal stopper – rather than a global superstar – emerge from a blacked-out four-by-four.

And it seems Wright has been thrown in at the deep-end at Eastlands. In the below video, released by Man City, he’s between the sticks as some of the squad, including Mario Balotelli, practice free-kicks.

Listen carefully at 1.08 when the Italian names the wall as Barcelona trio Messi, Iniesta and Xavi before unleashing a rocket of a free-kick past a despairing Wright and into the top corner. “Welcome,” chuckles one of the onlooking coaches.
